PDA Map Software

Some PDAs such as the Blackberry PDA made by RIM come pre-loaded with state of the art PDA map software and GPS or (Global Positioning Software). However for other PDA's , downloadable map software or SD card map software is available.

Generally, map software allows a user to access/view road maps, including state highways with landmarks. Other map software allows a user to type the destination point in their PDA and the software can generate a route on how to get there--even from coast-to-coast! Depending on the wireless and audio capabilities of your PDA, some map software can be voice prompted to search for directions while in a car. Other map software comes bundled with a GPS device to insert into your PDA. This way, in real time your PDA screen will chart your path as you drive! Other map software taps into MS Pocket Outlook Contacts on your PDA and generates a map based on the desired destination address. Map software with a GPS device can cost in the hundred of dollars, while more basic map software is more reasonably priced in the $50-$75 range.
