Psion PDA

Psion is considered a world leader in mobile computing and wireless networking. Except for the Series 7 and the Netbook, which blur the lines between PDAs and laptops, Psion has primarily gotten out of the general DA market. Psion is the largest shareholder in Symbian Ltd., a joint venture between Psion, Nokia, Motorola, Ericsson, Panasonic, Sony and Samsung. Symbian makes a wide variety of PDA Phones.

Both a Series 7 and a Netbook are larger than the average PDA, at 6.7 x 3.5 x 0.9 inches and weighing 12.5 Oz with built-in keyboards. However, both models are still smaller than most laptops and fairly easy to carry around. Both the Netbook PDA and the Series 7 offer basic organizational applications that can easily sync with a desktop computer. The OS for these models are Symbian applications including Word Processor, Agenda, Spreadsheet, Contacts Manager, Email and Web Browser. A Series 7 has 16 mb memory and a 640 x 480 pixel touch screen, while the Netbook has 64 mb memory and a color 640 x 480 pixel touch screen. A wireless modem can be inserted into either one? expansion slot. At over $1300, for Netbook and $899 for a Series 7, these PDAs are top of line and more suitable for a business setting.

PDA Software

PDA software can enormously increase your PDA's functions capacity and skill set. Every PDA comes with basic programs to help you keep track of contacts and organize your schedule. However, there's a wide range of additional programs available for use including PDA Productivity Software, graphics software, map software and PDA Games software.
